March 2, 2022 members from Tabahani Book Circle came prepared to Read Across America at 74th Street Elementary School and to put smiles on the faces of the students. I believe they were smiling, even behind masks. We had the best time reading to and engaging with the young scholars. Kudos to the educators and staff at 74th Street Elementary for their vested knowledge, concern and care they pour into their students. They also have a great library.
Three years ago the National Education Association (NEA) changed the Read Across America away from Dr. Seuss to “Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers” moving away from a singular focus.
